Scope and Contents

Carding time book, January 1867-March 1882. Lists names of employees, their total time worked and their daily rate of pay. Also includes, a time book from December 29, 1845 to November 16, 1850, probably of workers at the Rockdale Mills of the Northbridge Cloth Manufacturing Company. Book lists workers' names and has entries (some for day and night hours) under carding and spinning (some mule spinning), drawing, dressing, weaving, machine shop, carpentry shop, farm, store, etc.

Rockdale Mills, a cotton manufacturer in Rockdale, a locality in Northbridge, Massachusetts, was owned by Silvanus Holbrook and purchased in 1856 by Paul Whitin Manufacturing Company.
