Scope and Contents

This collection consists of roughly 2,800 postcards and 20 photographs documenting the textile industry in the United States in the 20th Century. It is an artificial collection that was created by the American Textile History Museum, which acquired the items through purchases and donations. The textile industries of other nations in North America and Europe are also documented. However, the bulk of the collection document the textile industry in New England in the first half of the 20th century.
