Scope and Contents
The C. W. Smith Papers consists of a time book from an unidentified mill in Barre, Massachusetts. 40 page ledger. C.W.Smith appears in small cotton fragments in the inside cover of the ledger. Lists workers' names, wages and board for carding, weaving and spinning rooms. The ledger is incomplete because at some point the ledger was reused and turned into a scrapbook. Many pages in volume have been pasted over with clippings mostly of poetry and images, from unidentified and undated newspapers. The date for the collection is listed from the dates of the timebook but the dates of the scrapbook are unknown.
