Dudley, Edward R., 1949-1964

1949, 1953-1955, 1957, 1959-1962, 1964. Correspondence with Justice Edward R. Dudley, Supreme Court of the State of New York and President of the Borough of Manhattan. Dudley was also a Special Assistant to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored Peoples and appointed by President Truman to be the first black United States Ambassador to Liberia. Konvitz comments that he would like a closer identification with the African-American Institute of which Dudley is a member (July 31, 1959).
