O: Bust of Lafayette facing left. R: A Lafayette l'Arrondissement de Meaux. Lafayette was elected deputy of Meaux in November 1822, with 169 vootes against 136 cast for his opponent, Ménager. Two years later, he was defeated by Baron de Cernon, but he regained his seat in 1827 et was able to secure it until his death. In 1830, the electoral college of Meaux voted a medal to honor Lafayette. A gold version was offered to him. White.
