Biographical / Historical

Eugene Gerard Endres, known as Gene, was born May 2, 1941 in Montclair, New Jersey. He recieved a B.S. from Stevens Institute of Technology and entered a graduate program in chemistry at Cornell University. He droped out in the 1960s to join the Peace Corps and taught in Costa Rica. Gene had a weekly radio show called "Hobo's Lullaby" which was broadcasted on WICB for 31 years. He also created the Ithaca Times's long running series "Postcards from the Finger Lakes." Gene maintained the Cornell Railroad Historical Society's website and produced a monthly newsletter with an international distribution. Gene also worked as an audio engineer in the Park School of Communication at Ithaca College.
