Scope and content
The Peggy Lawler papers (1948-2016) includes photographs, a copy of her master's thesis (1961), scrapbook, taped recordings of performances, publicity and programs for Ithaca Dancemakers and Cornell performing arts groups. Also includes correpondence from Karel Husa, playing score for percussion "Three Dance Sketches" by Karel Husa, including a cassette tape and a 1983 article about the score.

Biographical / Historical
Lawler received a B.A. in English from Texas Women's University in 1950 and from 1951-1955 she toured with Harriette Ann Gray's Dance Company. In 1961 she earned her M.A. in dance and became the head of the dance program at Cornell from 1965-1988. She was the founding member and teacher with the Ithaca Dancemakers from 1972-1982.
