Scope and content

Films of Cornell University events, alumni activities, buildings, faculty, and students, and Cornell "news reels" and news conference. Includes a 1928 film by Allan H. Mogensen featuring Spring Day, Cornell vs. Colgate Lacrosse, Drill Hall, Costumes, Roman Gladiators, Christians and Lions, Chariot race at Schoelkopf, and rowing vs. Syracuse (May 26, 1928). Also includes a Mogensen film showing campus in different seasons, which reuses some of the Cornell in Winter film footage and includes footage of commencement, Bristow Adams, and Livingston Farrand.Includes footage of Cornell University activities, places, and events, including athletics and research projects of the New York State Colleges of Agriculture and Human Ecology. Movie films about Cornell football, 1979; "Cornell in Review, 1966-1967"; "April 1969, Barton Hall"; 1968 dedication of the Synchrotron; "Good Wrestling / Dave Auble." Also, movie films and tapes on the 1969 and 1970 Commencements. Digitized footage of Sigma Pi and Phi Delta Theta house parties from 1958 including dancing and bands, Dick Avazian in the snow, campus from central avenue, possibly filmed by Jack Hitzel.
