Audio tapes and files relating to research on rent control and progressive urban politics in Santa Monica, Ca. include handwritten notes from interview tapes, transcripts of earlier interviews conducted by Dale Eunson, a file about the Campaign for Economic Democracy (CED), selected letters to the editor, documents from the opponents to Santa Monicans for Renters' Rights (SMRR), miscellaneous background information about the rise of SMRR, a file on organizational issues, and a file with various election materials. Audio tapes are of interview conducted with SMRR participants, city officials, senior tenants' rights activists, younger activists, landlords and other opponents of SMRR and rent control, and some public hearings.
