Biographical / Historical
Alex Kinon was an influential musician in the New York Hardcore scene who pushed the genre in new directions. Though he only performed in the New York hardcore band Agnostic Front from 1985-86, Kinon had a significant impact; appearing on their second release, “Cause for Alarm”, he moved the band away from traditional hardcore sounds and towards thrash metal. Materials in this collection primarily date from the years just before Kinon joined Agnostic Front, during which he performed with his own band, also called Cause for Alarm, which toured extensively through the early 1980s and released their first EP in 1983.
