Scope and Contents
Series consists of scrapbook, correspondence, photographs, dance cards, cancelled checks and account book from the Tompkins County National Bank, course assignments, and ephemera related to Kathryn Yohn’s personal life. Scrapbook contains correspondence, news clippings, event and performance programs, photographs, athletics tickets and programs, and other ephemera documenting Yohn’s time at Cornell University. The correspondence includes letters to and from Yohn to friends, including a “round robin” letter exchange in which one person writes a letter, adds it to an envelope with previous letters in the exchange, and mails the envelope to the next person, who then adds their own letter. Also present are letters from Cornell offices regarding Yohn’s academics. Dance cards are from on-campus formal social events and were used by Yohn to keep track of her dance partners at these functions. Series also includes an autograph book signed by Yohn’s friends from Cornell; a progress report noting the number of academic credits Yohn had earned as of June 25, 1927; hand-colored maps of North America and the United States with handwritten legends, completed by Yohn as class assignments; and additional ephemera.
