Biographical / Historical
Through the GI Bill, Vonnegut studied anthropology at the University of Chicago from 1945-1947. He received his graduate degree in anthropology 25 years after he left, when the University accepted his novel Cat's Cradle in lieu of his master's thesis in 1971.
