Abstract
Valentine Seaman was born in Queen County in New York in 1770 and became a doctor. Seaman is most remembered for his public health work, specifically the introduction of smallpox vaccines and his work mapping yellow fever outbreaks in New York City at the end of the 18th century. This collection is comprised of two of Seaman’s personal documents and two published writings.
